Dr. Feng Chong - Plastic & Cosmetic Surgeon

As one of Canada's leading and busiest cosmetic and plastic surgeons, Dr. Chong is well known not just because of his skill set, but also because of his charismatic and personable character. His unique personality and approach to his work have attracted a clientele list that not only includes lawyers and public figures, but also fellow healthcare professionals including nurses and doctors. Dr. Chong values every patient that he works with, and he stresses the importance of making himself readily available to his patients throughout the surgical process.

Dr. Chong specializes in breast, abdomen, body and facial cosmetic surgery. Amongst these and other procedures, Dr. Chong is one of the exclusive Edmonton surgeons that routinely performs "Mommy Makeovers" — a unique procedure comprising of breast lift/implants, tummy tucks and liposuction, all at the same time, in a safe, careful fashion.

Dr. Chong's passion and talent for surgery was discovered early-on in his medical schooling years where upon graduating from the University of Alberta Medical School, he was awarded the prestigious H. H. Hepburn Award for the medical student most likely to become a successful surgeon. Since then, Dr. Chong has gone on to train and practice in Seattle with the University of Washington, and in Toronto with the University of Toronto. One of his most memorable additions to his training was his completion of a Plastic & Cosmetic Fellowship with world renowned surgeon Dr. Oleh Antonyshyn.

Even with a strong following from patients in Calgary, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia, Dr. Chong returned home to Edmonton in order to start his practice with the University of Alberta, working mainly at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, the Misericordia Hospital, the Grey Nuns Hospital, and the Alberta Surgical Centre.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC), and a member of the Alberta College of Physicians and Surgeons, the Alberta Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Alberta Medical Association and the Canadian Medical Association. Going back to his roots, Dr. Chong also acts as a Clinical Lecturer with the University of Alberta, and is the Chief of Plastic Surgery at the Alberta Surgical Centre.

Coupled with his complete educational process and heavy experience, Dr. Chong's non-clinical, personal style to working with his patients is what makes him one of the most sought after surgeons in Canada.

Our Surgical Facility

As the Chief of Plastic Surgery at the Alberta Surgical Centre (ASC), Dr. Chong performs all his cosmetic surgical procedures here. The ASC is one of the largest and longest established non-hospital surgical facilities in Alberta. It is routinely inspected and is accredited by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta, as well as Alberta Heath Services. Various other plastic surgeons work at this facility, as well as other physicians from different surgical disciplines such as dermatology, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, and urology. All the staff at the ASC strive to provide the highest level of patient care and comfort.
