Mini Tummy Tuck / Mini Abdominoplasty

Get rid of that belly, shrink that waistline

Mini Tummy Tuck (Mini Abdominoplasty) is a cosmetic procedure in which excessive skin and fat are removed from the lower part of the abdomen. Distended skin is removed, the "six-pack" muscle reinforced, and the lower abdomen rejuvenated. The appearance and profile of the lower abdomen is improved by removing skin folds, scarring and stretch marks.

Generally removes less skin and fat than a Full Tummy Tuck (Full Abdominoplasty) but is sometimes more suitable for patients with less loose skin. Deals more with the loose skin below the belly button (umbilicus) then the skin above.

Often combined with Liposuction of the sides of the abdomen.

Extra fat in the abdominal area
Stretch marks
Laxity of the "six-pack" muscle following pregnancy or aging
2.5 - 3 hours
Under general anaesthetic, an incision is made above the pubic hairline in an area normally covered by a bikini. The skin is then lifted off the "six-pack" muscles as far up as the ribs. The belly button (umbilicus) remains in its normal position. The "six-pack" muscle or rectus abdominus is tightened and brought back together reducing the waistline. Finally the skin is pulled down and the excess skin and fat below the umbilicus is cut out. Dressings and a binder is then applied.
